Born in Toronto, Ontario, Rosemary Sadlier has been president of the Ontario Black History Society since 1993, and was instrumental in making the celebration of Black History Month a national event in Canada. She is the author of two biographies of Harriet Tubman, Mary Ann Shadd: Publisher, Editor, Teacher, Lawyer, Suffragette and Leading the way: Black women in Canada.
